I was raised catholic so I witnessed this with my own eyes I have several aunts that still go every day 8am

The serious christians observe and partake communion at a public mass everyday of their lives. They mourn the death & celebrate the resurrection everyday . They don't see Jesus' command as being identified as a once a year thing - he says as often as you do this, do it in memory of me. Each Saturday & Sunday an even more public celebration of the death & resurection is available. The once a year at Easter is what you'd call their big "info-mercial" with all the bible verses that support it! ... but of course there is NO rejection, or class divisions for the baptized, the communion is between you and God.

Whether you believe in god or the bible or not - doesn't it seem like the WT tries to twist the bible with entanglements of its literature about this extra-special dress-up meeting to try and keep their people away from the communion with god so that THEY (WT) stay in the middle.

This is one of the first publications that I investigated way back in the beginning of my "ordeal".

The idea of the trinity - whether you believe it or not - has nothing to do with the dishonesty in this brochure. It convinced me that they know exactly what they are doing and will stoop to the lowest level to take advantage of people. It's an abuse of trust.

With the internet shining its light I'm not surprised, only thankful

'The Land of Decoration' by Grace McLeen

i did a search for this author and book on this forum but couldn't find anything, so apologies if this has already been posted.

i'm surprised it hasn't got more attention here.. this book was published last month in england - i heard about it on the radio where it said that the author is an ex-jehovah's witness.. i haven't been able to confirm this anywhere else except to say that the author grew up in a fundamentalist religion.

on reading the book, while not explicitly stated, it's quite clear that the main character is a witness.. i highly recommend it - it's a novel about a child who creates a world in her room made out of various objects.

I just finished the book, and I agree it is beautifully written.

It is called fiction, but the way the author narrates through the perspective of a young girl (10) it brings to light the struggle of wishing the big A would come to fix all that is wrong with her world.

If you liked "The Room" or if you grew up wishing the world would "hurry up and end"....you'll probably like this book.

Timing of new "faithful & discreet slave class" teaching

the following is pure, 100% speculation, but i think it's fun to do anyway..... .

as has been posted on numerous threads, the "biggie" coming out of the annual meeting this past weekend is that now the "faithful and discreet slave" is considered to be the jw governing body only - not "all anointed nes on earth".. and has been posted, it seems that the most recent direct statement of the "old light" - that the fds is composed of "all anointed" - was made in 2009.. so that makes me think - what happened between 2009 & 2012 to elicit such a change?.

both jack barr & ted jaracz - the last of the "old guard" - died in 2010.. the gb went from 9 members down to 7.. assuming that the "2/3 majority" rule as written about by ray franz was still in effect, this scenario seems plausible:.

Could they also be preparing the flock for the house cleaning they will do after the Conti appeal and the onslaught of more cases become more public. Kick out the evil slaves that had infiltrated their throne - the way they did Ray Franz. Its all set for a few scapegoats - even the prophecy of their presence.

could this also help them out in the unthank case?

It's easy to blame dead guys.

this is the summary of the rumored new light from the 2012 annual meeting, as posted by cedars.. the faithful and discreet slave was not appointed at pentecost 33ce, meaning that there has not been a continuous line of members of the slave class on the earth down through the ages.

the slave class was only appointed for the first time by christ in 1919.the faithful and discreet slave is a small group of anointed brothers during jesus presence serving at watchtower headquarters who are directly involved in the preparing and dispensing of spiritual food.

the individual members of the governing body are not the faithful and discreet slave.

the bottom line on the response was they would not even send me a direct letter with answers, but chose to send the answer letter to my elders who read only portions of it to me...my elder dad of 30 plus years said he had never heard of that.

the elders told me not to share any of the info as it could hurt others faith...i said how the hell is that if this is the real truth about our bible and how it has changed the greek scriptures???

This is hard to read. You can just feel the pain.

The disbelief that everything you've ever thought and taught is now suspect when the basic truth is crumbling all around and the last hope has to be that SLAVE on high who will set things straight. NO REPLY.

How does one feel when they can't answer?

i'm dating a jw.

i have asked him several questions that would be categorized as "thinking" questions and i knew he'd have a tough time finding answers.

whenever i wouldn't get an answer to 3-5, i was moving on to the next 3-5. over a year's time, just about all have gone unanswered... just dropped... non-existent at this point.
